Final Year One Portfolio Production

In my first year of HND Photography (HNC), I had to pick my top five photos from earlier tasks for my final submission. These were Mid Key Lighting, Image Editing Colour Match, Studio Portrait, Architecture Exterior Creative Interpretation, and High Key Portrait. I really liked these and planned to use them for my interview to get into the second year of HND Photography.

The next set of photos was for my final project, where I aimed to create images that could be used in car ads. I took five pictures of a Ford Mondeo Vignale. This project improved my editing skills, especially in removing reflections, lighting a car’s interior with limited space and layering in Photoshop to combine images. For example, the dashboard shots with screens are two photos combined, one without flash for the display and another with flash for the main shot.

By the end of this project, I got better at editing my photos. I also learned why car ads are moving towards CGI. It lets them control how the car looks, manage reflections, and deal with the weather better.
